David Hiel
Throughout university and college, Dave spent his summer days landscaping in the Ottawa area. He realized that his passion for landscaping would soon become a full time career. Having spent 29 years in the industry he has amassed a huge knowledge base, which is reflected in his design technique. He took some time out to study fine furniture making which draws from his other passion, working with wood.
Dave's wife, daughter, and dogs are an essential part of his life. With the support of his family, Dave decided to start Green Roots Landscaping Inc. with Ryan Crompton. Finding a likeminded business partner who shares the same meticulous attention to detail and drive has created a wonderful work dynamic.

Ryan Crompton
Ryan is one of the founding members of Green Roots Landscaping Inc. He helped establish the company after having worked in the industry for six years and provides an extensive array of designs for clients in Ottawa and surrounding communities.
With a degree from Carleton University, Ryan has also travelled extensively. His designs combine local and international styles to suit the client’s taste - from English garden to French provincial, and even Scandinavian modern. Ryan's expertise and experience base ensure that his clients are always satisfied with a unique design that suits their personal tastes.
